Car Carrier Freemantle Highway Ablaze in the Wadden Sea

One crewmember has died and several injured after the vessel caught fire with a cargo of 3 000 cars.
The vessel was in Dutch waters, near the island of Ameland, when it caught fire and has since been towed out of the shipping routes. A major emergency operation. lead by the Dutch Coastguard, is underway with salvage and oil spill recovery vessels attending the scene and attempting to extinguish the blaze.
