Vessel Eelmlift Hendrika adrift of West Coast of Norway

MV Eelmlift Hendrika in trouble of the West coast of Norway. The crew has been evacuated and salvage operations underway.

The Heavy Lift Cargo Vessel developed a list after the crew reported a shifting cargo. After the crew were evacuated the vessel continued on autopilot before losing power and is currently drifting 40-50 nautical miles west of Ålesund. Salvage operations are underway with KV Sortland on site to prevent a pollution incident, MV Eelmlift Hedrika is carrying approximately 350 tonnes of heavy oil and 50 tonnes of diesel. The salvage vessel reports that one boat being transported has been lost overboard.
