In memory of Ulf Bustorff: 1944 - 2016

On Thursday we were informed that Ulf Bustorff, a dear colleague, lost his fight against a serious illness. We are very sad to lose an exceedingly valued and well-deserving colleague. Ulf played a major role in shaping the maritime emergency services of Germany.

You will certainly remember him from his work as deputy chief of the CCME, as well as from various forums and working groups such as ACPH, IMO, BONN, HELCOM, and his time with the EU and in the Gulf region.

Unfortunately, there were far too few years left to enjoy his retirement. We will miss Ulf as a humorous and competent conversation partner and we will keep his memory alive. We lost a good friend and colleague; our thoughts are with his family.
