Sensitivity Ranking Workshop
The Sensitivity Ranking Workshop was held on 11-13 September 2014 in Brussels, Belgium.
The environmental and socioeconomic sensitivity analysis methodology devised in BE-AWARE I was qualitative and therefore required expert input to rank the features for their sensitivity to oil pollution for each season. The workshop did this for each of the 31 environmental and 18 socioeconomic features that formed the basis for the vulnerability analysis. These scores were then combined with geospatial data on the features to develop sensitivity maps for each feature, which were themselves combined into an overall sensitivity map for the region.
The key objectives of the seminar were to:
- Ensure a common understanding of the ranking methodology
- Agree on the sensitivity ranking scores for sensitive features
