The Bonn Agreement's 11 Contracting Parties regularly update and agree on a strategy to implement the aims of the Bonn Agreement in marine pollution prevention, preparedness and response.

Bonn Agreement Strategy 2025 - 2035

The Bonn Agreement Strategy (BAS 2025 - 2035) sets out collective objectives to achieve a clean and healthy marine and coastal environment in the Bonn Agreement Area protected from accidental and illegal marine pollution from ships and other maritime activities as well as from air emissions from ships.

The BAS 2025-2035 is put into effect through an Implementation Plan that contains identified actions to achieve the strategic and operational objectives and which is managed by theWorking Group on Operational, Technical and Scientific Questions Concerning Counter-Pollution Activities (OTSOPA).

Previous Strategies

The BAS 2025-2035 follows the Bonn Agreement Strategic Action Plan (BASAP) 2019-2025.

A report on the implementation of the BASAP for 2019-2025 describes the progress made in putting in place a comprehensive programme of work to deliver its strategic aims and reflects the achievements accomplished.

Prior to 2019 the Bonn Agreement implemented Action Plans as adopted by Contracting Parties:
